In recent years, there has been a shift towards advancing technology, and some manufacturers may be choosing to phase out parallel printing ports in favour of USB Ethernet or even wireless connection.
You may have had to consider which direction to go in, worrying about whether your parallel devices may become obsolete and how you can keep going without making the switch to different systems and equipment, which can become costly.
At Martel Instruments, we believe that parallel printers are still essential across many industries, including scientific, industrial and manufacturing. The potential of parallel technology is obvious and remains crucial to many core businesses, and we’re specialists in supporting those choosing to commence or continue their journey with parallel printers.
Many applications have systems that rely on parallel printers to ensure their workflows run smoothly, offering the physical, immediate data capture needed for many processes, including:
The reasons they’re often deployed is because of three qualities: durability, compatibility and immediacy. With asset tracking, logistics, safety inspections and inventory management as examples, instantaneous printouts are sometimes the only suitable method to document and timestamp data.
Many of the above applications also rely on field-based work. Parallel printers are compatible with a variety of environments and don’t rely on an exact location or facility to function.
To take advantage of secure documentation that is also compliant, handheld parallel printers are typically the best way to go, whilst still conducting your work in warehouses, industrial facilities, mobile healthcare units, remote laboratories and even roadside!
In many of the industries mentioned above, diagnostic data is often best to have at the point of diagnostics; to print this and be able to produce records, test results and auditable paper trails is often one of the only ways to maintain efficiency without risking compliance and onward timelines.
Parallel printers are robust, simple and compatible with some of the most important hardware in your facility. Save yourself the time and money of a system overhaul by maintaining your proven infrastructure.
Unlike many other manufacturers, Martel is dedicated to supporting customers with low-volume needs.
If you require parallel printing from your equipment, we are here to support you, no matter how many printers you require, whether it be 10 or 1000.
We have the capabilities to create customised parallel printing solutions, perfect for niche applications, enabling printing from any device, even those made obsolete by other manufacturers.
If your usual manufacturer has made your printer obsolete, no longer provides the consumables, the maintenance or the support for your device, the cost implications of replacing an entire system can be vast. Not only will there be financial costs, but the time taken to replace the equipment and redesign workflows and processes can have detrimental impacts on your facility.
We can save you these costs as Martel guarantees to have the solution to support you with your current devices that rely on parallel technology.
We not only save you the time and money of replacing devices, but when you choose to work with Martel for your parallel printing needs, we offer our support for the lifetime of your product.
Our goal is to ensure the longevity of your product, and in doing so, we support the long-term reliability of your product as long as you continue to use parallel technology.
In turn, this ensures confidence for our customers when investing in solutions to support their essential infrastructure.
Our team of experts are equipped to adapt to unique needs, we can grow with you as your systems do.
Intoximeters produce and market a full range of alcohol breath testing instruments and have been leaders in this field since 1945. Due to laws regarding driving under the influence of alcohol, roadside toxicology testing has become essential and Intoximeters offers a device that conducts these tests.
Intoximeters manufacture the roadside toxicology testing device which requires a print out of the data collected however their printer supplier made the parallel printer obsolete.
As they didn’t want to go to the expense of redesigning their device, due to the cost, time and certification issues they’d need to overcome, Intoximeters reached out to our experts at Martel.
Although we didn’t have a parallel printer available in our portfolio that was suitable for the roadside toxicology testing device, we designed a parallel printer to fit their device, ensuring minimal disruption for their customers.
We can assure you that parallel technology isn’t going anywhere!
Our team at Martel believe in the printers, and we are dedicated to continuing the development of parallel technology ensuring that your devices and equipment don’t become obsolete.
We continue to manufacture parallel printers, the parts and the consumables our customers require to continue using parallel technology. In addition, we offer customised printing solutions for those who may have been using a device now deemed obsolete and find a way to keep the device functioning. Not only this, but if you have equipment that currently cannot print, but you require it to print, we can also create custom solutions to enable a printing function from a non-printing device.
We provide all the support you need to get through the early days of working with your solution. No matter whether you’re providing our solution as an integrated part of your OEM equipment or you are the end user yourself. We will ensure you have the right aftercare for your needs.
We guarantee to provide support for your product for the entirety of its lifecycle, through maintenance and servicing ensuring ongoing solutions for any component obsolescence.
Parallel technology is not outdated, it is a crucial aspect for many specialist environments, we’re here to support you no matter what.
